While this list is not inclusive of all employers for persons with disabilities in the state, it’s aimed to be a good starting place for individuals with disabilities to find employment.
7 Inclusive Companies for Employment for People with Disabilities in Utah:
These seven companies within the state of Utah actively promote their employment of individuals with disabilities. This is not meant to be an inclusive list though, and we’ll give more suggestions for finding employment later on within this post.
Hale Centre Theater: Hires people with disabilities to work primarily as ushers, but other positions may be available
Deseret Industries: Stocking shelves, organizing donations, cashier, etc…
Goodwill: Same positions as Deseret Industries
Sips Drive-Thru: Cashier
Sephora: Has a program where they train individuals with disabilities for 9 weeks, after the training period they’ll be offered a full-time position working in their Salt Lake City warehouse.
Enable Utah: Their mission as a company is to help developmentally disabled individuals in the state of Utah find employment. So while our list is nowhere near complete, they have resources available to connect individuals to more job opportunities.
Amazon: Hires individuals in their warehouses for a wide variety of jobs.
Other Places to Seek Employment in Utah:
Other places to look when seeking Employment for People with Disabilities in Utah are local small businesses. Check with your local soda shops, veterinary clinics, farms, horse riding centers, restaurants, etc… Small businesses might be more likely to hire individuals with disabilities because they have more direct say in who they hire than larger corporations.
Services for Employment for People with Disabilities in Utah:
giv.care is a disability care provider that can have caregivers work one-on-one with individuals with disabilities who have SEI available to them in their Medicaid budgets from DSPD. We can work with the caregiver to have them trained to provide these services and then they can work with the individual with a disability to find and secure employment for themselves.
